Slalom Skating

Inline skating, my favorite activity since 1999, the history of couple boots wasted, hundreds of wheels and bearings worn out riding in parks, avenues and path walks. Before big rush around slalom skating that appeared around 2005 in eastern Europe I was simply recreational skater. More and more young and eager skaters started trainings, so did I. At that time recreational skate boots combined with bisected tennis balls as slalom markes did not work well – skates did not turn well and rubber worked like a glue giving falls instantly when run over. Next season I invested into Salomon Crossmax 3V SL and plastic mugs of Ikea. With moderate success at the beginning and after virtually no skating in 2008, I had quite intensive summer 2009. I have observed many skaters doing huge progress. I did not believe them how much depends on pro skates until I got a pair of Seba High Black late summer that year.

Silent training place

Having possibility to ride in the corridor from time to time, I have not wasted winter 2009/2010. Last year 2010 was fully dedicated to slalom skating, mixed up with freerides from time to time. To save time on traveling I searched and found excellent place next to my home; a silent street with dead end made of smooth concrete blocks. I can do my trainings here even after short showers, evaporation of concrete is super fast.  Despite slalom madness, I have not forget about Crossmax skates, old boots equipped with seba liners still serve well in freeride through the city pavements, alleys, and streets.

And what about you? Do you skate? If no, maybe you should try make first steps. Take advantage of place you live in, adapt to weather and go!

For my thoughts the subject look at thethe skating category list.
